New York City has one of the highest concentrations of designers of any city in the world, and its annual NYCxDESIGN celebration now reflects that with three full weeks of events, trade fairs, and exhibitions. Showrooms in Soho and Tribeca have successfully banded together as design districts; this year they will be joined by the NoMad Design District and Howard and Crosby Streets. The outer boroughs will buzz with activity too, with exhibitions in Queens and an open-house event at the Staten Island MakerSpace. There is more to do than ever before

Our events calendar features our picks for the 30 best installations/talks going on around the city. If your time is limited, check out our editors’ selections of 8 must-see exhibitions. Or, if you like to explore the city by neighborhood, check out these recommendations from 6 trendy New York-based designers, including Bec Brittain and Anna Karlin.
