Lighting solutions that span the spectrum.
By Paul Makovsky
May 2002
While cutting-edge lighting designers like Carpenter Norris and Lightwave
are working, respectively, on the age-old problem of getting natural daylight
into interiors and finding new applications for energy-efficient
LEDs, the vast majority of lighting design still revolves around traditional
lightbulbs. The quality and variety of that work, as shown here, is impressive
and includes everything from SWON Design's marriage of handblown glass with
neon to Karim Rashid's multipurpose Bongo lamp-stool-table.
