Sony has taken the idea behind its popular Aibo dog significantly
further: its prototype humanoid robot can recognize faces, voices, and names;
hold simple conversations; sing and dance; and even pick itself up when
it's pushed over. The two-foot-tall SDR-4X companion robot, which the company
hopes will be on the market by the end of the year, will cost as much as
a luxury car.
