Float’s Flexible Droplet Bowl

By Michele Keith

Posted May 15, 2004

Made of durable, transparent silicon rubber, the Droplet Bowl is non-toxic, heat-resistant, and break-proof, making it wonderful tableware for indoors and out. Thanks to its gentle lip, liquid contents pour as easily from it as from a pitcher, so it’s perfect for soup or purees, as well as for more substantial items like fruit or cereal. As an added touch, if its contents are heavy enough, the bowl also conforms to their shape.

Inspired by water drops, perhaps those she sees when surfing, Jeanne Scandura designed the bowls in two sizes and three colors—clear, blue, and amber. “Flexibility and movement, “she says,” are key to all of the products we make at our studio.”
