Pallino is Italian for “cue ball,” which could easily refer to this blown-glass vessel’s spherical shape. The ripples across the vase’s lip evoke a peaceful pond, making Pallino’s contents appear to float on water.
According to Milan-based designer Fabio Cocchi, although Pallino’s shape is based on a traditional Italian design, it also evokes a bouquet. “When women get married, they carry a bouquet with a platform that keeps the flowers off of the hands,” Cocchi says. “So we thought we would make something for everyone to always have a little bouquet of flowers.”
