Glasklasen Chandelier
“I am a trained architect, but I also design products. I designed Glasklasen with another architect, Gunnar Cedervall, and industrial designer Jörgen Pudeck.
“This design started with a wooden ring Gunnar hung in his home, with slots cut out of it to hang his drinking glasses. We collaborated on this more interesting shape. By selecting which glasses to hang on it, you design your own lamp. Different kinds of glasses cause different reflections and light patterns. The one in my home holds all types of glasses of many colors. If you choose all crystal glasses, it will look like a crystal chandelier.
“Some people like the glasses to be for show, but I think they should be used: use them, wash them, and hang them back up. When you set the table, you take down your glass yourself, like I do in my kitchen. It’s very nice.”
