Inspired by the rock-and-chicken wire gabion walls frequently used to prevent erosion along the coastal highways of Western Canada, Toronto-based sculptor Zac Ridgely was created a collection of handmade furniture and light fixtures. The square end table seen here is 18” on each side, incorporates river stones within a frame steel mesh, and is topped by a slab of 3/8” thick glass. Ridgely also uses crushed shells, marble, and glass in his highly original pieces, some of which can do double-duty as both table and seating.
