Taping gold-painted frames to rusty pipes, crumbling brick walls, and graffiti-strewn alleys, participants in the Urban Curators project highlight the unintended ­beauty of downtown Providence’s urban detritus. The group—which emerged from RISD’s Semiotic Disobedience workshop last fall—also plans to sow similar initiatives in other cities. We say, it’s all fun and games until someone curates his way into a tetanus shot.
