Lawn Party

Spruce up your backyard with these inventive new outdoor furnishings.

Posted March 18, 2009

If you’re lucky enough to live someplace with good outdoor space—whether it’s a lush swath of Eden or just a nice-sized patio—you can maximize your enjoyment with some smart furniture choices. Instead of tossing a few generic plastic chairs on the lawn, make the backyard an extension of the living room with deep-seated sofas, glowing lamps, and a roaring fire pit. Fortunately—since you’ll want to keep things environmentally friendly—you’ll find recyclable plastics in bold colors (as seen in Magis’s whimsical Julian collection) as well as a variety of FSC-certified teaks for woodsier palates. The products featured here should help transform even the humblest patch of grass into an open-air oasis.
