The Networked Office

Products that foster collaboration and efficiency for today’s workplace

By Paul Makovsky

Posted November 15, 2011

With the proliferation of laptops, netbooks, and smartphones, the way we work is constantly changing, and the cubicle has become a thing of the past. Today’s workforce is operating from virtually anywhere—and, thankfully, the tools and solutions that manufacturers and designers are proposing seem to foster a better sense of interaction and teamwork. Gadgets that promise a more efficient professional environment are also welcome—whether it’s through paper eliminators, like Fujitsu’s mobile scanner, or time management solutions, such as Héctor Serrano’s humorous watch prototype that measures how much time has been wasted over the course of a day. The products shown here all intend to help us work together and get our jobs done a little faster.
