Chicago-based Skyline Design’s FOTOglas is a new proprietary process that etches photographic images onto the surface of glass. The etching is permanent, translucent, and can be used on either one or both sides of the glass to create varying illusions of depth. The etching can be of 1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2”, and 3/4” thicknesses, and can be done on plate, tempered, laminated, and insulated glasses. Color is a further option; it can be added to the surface by using Skyline’s Vitracolor process, which offers up to 30 standard hues.
