A Seat that Melds Art and Craft

Sao Paulo designer Flavia Pagotti pays tribute to the lace-making tradition of Brazil with the Renderia Seat, named after the weavers who carry on this age-old craft. The chair blends contemporary design with the vernacular arts by embedding a large piece of bilro, Brazil’s famous handcrafted lace, into a clear acrylic chair with a stainless steel frame. The result is simultaneously minimal and intricate.
