Good Clean Fun

New looks for kitchens and baths.

Cleanability, efficiency, and attractiveness are all marks of a well-designed kitchen or bathroom. The forward-thinking company Snaidero has achieved that mix by hiring Ferrari designer Paolo Pininfarina to produce a limited-edition kitchen—a futuristic-looking circular construction made of completely recyclable materials, including an aluminum structure that is 40 percent lighter than a standard aluminum unit. Currently available in Europe, the kitchen will be released in New York and Los Angeles later this spring.

Manufacturers and designers are transforming wet rooms through surprising material combinations and component choices. Agape’s Porto bathroom accessories mix stainless steel with Corian; Dornbracht’s Meta Plasma bathroom storage system is made of colorful transparent acrylics; and Boffi’s Case System 5.0 takes its cues from the office environment, using modular storage and file cabinet-like drawers.

Finally, every space should leave room for a bit of fun, and Alessi’s amusing Bunny & Carrot paper-towel holder will brighten up any kitchen.
