The 2008 Next Generation® Design Competition
Metropolis’s Next Generation® Design Competition deadline has been extended to Sunday January 6, 2008(12 am PST)! This year’s focus is on innovative design solutions that consider WATER. This competition celebrates the next generation by rewarding imaginative young designers at large companies and recognizing the hard work of those striving with their own young firms or on their own as well as students. So make some waves with your solutions…Hurry, time is running out to win the $10,000 award!
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is now accepting proposals for educational sessions for Greenbuild 2008 (November 19-21, Boston). Sessions should reflect the program theme of Revolutionary Green: Innovations for Global Sustainability. Download the call for proposals which outlines proposal requirements and selection criteria on their site and learn how to submit your proposal online. Deadline: January 11th
ICFF Studio/Bernhardt Design Call For Entries
The ICFF Studio– a group area with individual booths on the exhibition floor–makes the ICFF a practical venue for emerging talents. George Little Management, LLC (GLM), producer and manager of the ICFF, and Bernhardt Design invite submissions from designers working on any and all the product categories exhibited at the ICFF: furniture, seating, carpet and flooring, lighting, outdoor furniture, materials, wall coverings, accessories, textiles, and kitchen and bath. Deadline: January 15th
2008 Design Schools: ICFF Call for Entries
GLM will provide each of the six selected schools with a 200 square foot booth space. Submissions will be reviewed and judged by editors design publications and event sponsors. Entries must hold a description of a topic, a singular concept with original products and prototypes designed by students to be exhibited at the ICFF. Deadline: January 15th
Greener Gadgets Design Competition
Greener Gadgets and Core77 are seeking design innovations for greener electronics. This design competition engages established design firms, emerging designers, and design students to come up with new and innovative solutions to address the issues of energy, carbon footprint, health and toxicity, new materials, product lifecycle, and social development. The top entries will be showcased live at the Greener Gadgets Conference for judging by a panel and the audience, and awards will be given out at the end of the night. Deadline: January 27th
