Smart Environments 2: Holistic Thinking, Worker Productivity, and Home Design

Course# Met108
This course is AIA/CES registered for 1LU / HSW.

The 2007 IIDA/Metropolis Smart Environments Awards recognized projects that are sustainable, healthy, user friendly, and beautiful. Three of the winning projects are the U.S. Census Bureau by SOM, the Navy Federal Credit Union by ASD, and Eco Suite by Kantelberg Design. The articles on these projects from the January 2008 issue of Metropolis, “An Integrated Effort,” “The Accidental Environmentalists,” and “Choice Materials” explore issues of sustainability—from client expectations and worker productivity to a critical look at materials choices.
