How many pairs of shoes/glasses do you own?

Kegan: I’m not really a shoe person. I have maybe six, seven. Glasses I have one.

Liz: Ten, I would say.

Think of something else ICFF can stand for.

Liz: Intelligent Community Free. That’s not intelligent. InterContinental Fountain Forest.

Kegan: I think ICFF is perfect for what it is.

If you could build a piece of furniture out of any material in the world, what would it be?

Liz: Titanium.

Kegan: I would say something maybe out of silicone, or like a skin-based something.

Liz: She wants to work in human skin is what she’s trying to say.

What is the desktop picture on your computer?

Liz: Mine is a collage of various things from my favorite artists that I anally put together in Photoshop. It’s a bit embarrassing.

Kegan: I have a shot form a recent Italian Vogue magazine—supermodels in rehab, naked in bathtubs.

Do you sketch with a particular kind of pen or notebook?

Liz: Moleskine.

Kegan: I like the fine-point sharpies. But I just got my favorite sketchbook ever, from Muji.

When did you know you wanted to be a designer?

Liz: Like somewhere around eight grade I started sewing clothes.

Kegan: I was in high school and I looked at the DWR catalogue all the time, and I wasn’t sure that someone actually designed it. I asked my mom where the things came from and she had no idea. And then I realized there were people behind the designs and that I could be one of those people, and that changed everything.

What’s your favorite thing you’ve seen here?

Kegan: Those perforated Jean Nouvel leather chairs

Liz: I love the Charles and Marie booth, it’s black and slanted.

If you weren’t a designer, what would you be?

Liz: Probably an architect or mechanical engineer.

Kegan: A writer maybe. I always wanted to write, I love to write, I do all the time. Maybe a painter.

What is your least favorite color?

Liz: Purple. I have a deep hatred of purple.

Kegan: Every color has a place, it just has to be appropriate. Even purple has a place. I don’t like yellow that much. Not big on yellow.

Do you have a hero?

Liz: John Pettingil, our fabricator.

Kegan: He’s amazing.
