WYSIWYG’s Wry Designs at By Maze
The designers that make up Thailand’s By Maze collective create amusing objects that fit together or come apart for use in different ways: a cookie jar whose lid is also a bud vase, or bright plastic hors d’oeuvre picks that mimic a plot of Astroturf.
This year the designer couple billed as WYSIWYG has upped the cleverness ante with two multifunctional porcelain cup-and-saucer sets reminiscent of Eva Zeisel’s playful ceramics.
Palm has a saucer shaped like a painter’s palette, with a gently curved thumbhole for easy one-handed carrying. Infinity has two chambers and sits in a deep saucer with a dent in the lip—perfect for holding a spoon, stirrer, or cigarette.
