Rachel Casanova, Principal, Director of Workplace, Perkins+Will
Rachel specializes in corporate workplace environments and implementing innovative solutions that reflect the culture, mission, and financial objectives of clients. Her robust portfolio includes work in media and technology, consumer products, non-profit, professional services, financial institutions, and law firms, working to enhance organizational performance through the alignment of the design of space, technology application, and the needs of the people using the space. Rachel has published articles on occupant engagement, sustainable firm culture, and workplace strategy for the Facility Management Journal, Interior Design Magazine, and Perkins+Will’s “ideas + buildings blog” respectively. She has recently participated in speaking engagements at NeoCon and Bisnow, among others, where she addressed the importance of change management and the workplace of the future.

Eric Chan, Principal, ECCO Design
Eric Chan is the Founder of ECCO Design, a product innovation and design strategy firm in New York City specializing in product identity and development with a mission to bring a meta-culture philosophy to the highest level of consultancy. Eric has worked with clients in every major consumer sectors from furniture, electronic appliances to wearable technology including Herman Miller, LG Electronics Virgin, Toyota and Lenovo. Born in China, and educated at the Cranbrook Academy of Art, his work has been featured in numerous international publications and in the permanent collections of museums worldwide. He has served as a juror for the Industrial Design Excellence Awards and the CES Awards for Industrial Design.
Paul Makovsky, Editorial Director, Metropolis magazine
Before joining Metropolis, Paul was managing editor of 2wice magazine and a Smithsonian Fellow at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum where he worked on the exhibition and catalogue “Mixing Messages: Graphic Design in Contemporary Culture.” A graduate of the University of Toronto and McGill University, he has collaborated on numerous art and design exhibitions and is currently working on a biography of the life and work of Florence Knoll.
John Michael, Vice President & General Manager, Furniture, Business Interiors by Staplesâ„ 
John is responsible for the overall performance of Staples contract furniture business nationwide. He successfully manages the operating performance of each market location to ensure they meet corporate guidelines. John has an extensive background within the contract furniture industry, with more than 25 years of experience.
Jack O'Keefe, Manager, Corporate Construction, Ralph Lauren
Jack is a registered architect with extensive project management and architectural/engineering experience involving design and construction initiatives across a wide span of industries. He has spearheaded several award-winning projects in firms and multinationals such as Pfizer, Hellman Construction, Lindemon Wincklemann & Martin and Hazen and Sawyer, as well as extensive work in the public sector with the New York Presbyterian Hospital, the Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center, and architectural work at the NYC DEP Newtown Creek Sewage Treatment Plant. Currently, he has brought this consistent leadership to the fore with his most recent post in Ralph Lauren, where he works as Manager of Corporate Construction in the New York and New Jersey areas.
A.J. Paron-Wildes, Architectural & Design Regional Manager, Allsteel
A.J. Paron-Wildes has acquired significant experience working in the design/build industry. She has created and led a multi-million dollar award-winning design/build firm, developed national programs for ASID, developed and funded design research programs for the University of Minnesota and pioneered various charitable programs. Ms. Paron-Wildes helps corporate clients and institutions to look to the future when designing their spaces and facilities. She specializes in design implementation and collaboration, environmental initiatives/LEED, workplace advisory and change management. Over 20 publications have published articles of projects completed by Ms. Paron-Wildes. She has served as a design judge for several professional organizations.


Susan S. Szenasy, Publisher/Editor in Chief, Metropolis magazine
Susan S. Szenasy has been Editor in Chief of Metropolis, the award-winning magazine of architecture, culture, and design since 1986. In 2013 she was named Publisher, a position that adds administrative responsibilities to her creative work. She has lead Metropolis through decades of landmark design journalism, achieving domestic and international recognition. A pioneer in connecting environmental stewardship with design, she and her staff continue to look for cutting edge thinking on sustainability (both environmental and social). A book on her collected writings, Szenasy: Design Advocate, was published in March 2014.
