Nothing Goes to Waste in the Work of Chen Chen & Kai Williams

A new short film takes us inside the experimental studio of Chen Chen & Kai Williams.

Chen Chen & Kai Williams, whose experimental design studio is based in Brooklyn, are masters at transforming excess product into furniture and interior objects. While the pair may use concrete to cast molded planters, for example, nothing goes to waste; they use the left-over concrete to create stunning “stalagmite” sculptures.

This film, produced by A/D/O and directed by Remy Weber and Nick Zeig-Owens, is one of a short series on contemporary designers that premiered at the Architecture and Design Film Festival. You can find their film on CW&T here.
