Puerto Rican industrial designer Reynold Rodriguez has a gorgeous, innate sense of form. Like Athena sprouting from her father’s head, Rodriguez’s pieces seem to have burst from his mind fully formed (and well-dressed). With its radial corners, ovaloid sliding door, and deep, glossy aubergine finish, his audio-visual storage unit and television stand, the TV-3, recalls the exotic days of Japonisme. His cylindrical DJ table, the 00, looks tropical and lush, wrapped in a rich, grainy teak veneer. Is there a manufacturer in the house?
