Artoleum’s Impressionist, Pointillist Tiles
For Denis Darragh, president of Forbo Flooring North America, sustainability is not a marketing issue: It’s a socio-economic responsibility. While Forbo’s linoleum products have been green since that term was only a color, the company doesn’t see this as a production or creative liability.
Passione, Forbo’s third Artoleum collection of linoleum floor coverings, combines up to seven pure, unmixed colors in a close speckled design. Forbo evokes the Impressionists and Pointillists when describing the intense effect that these colors and patterns create. And which references could be more appropriate here in Chicago, a city whose Art Institute is home to some of the most famous paintings in these styles?
