Building Blocks

During last week’s Design 2008 in the Meatpacking District, we came upon this exceptional addition to an old building. Created by the brilliant minds at SHoP Architects, the structure maintains the character and charm of the neighborhood while adding an authentic contemporary splash. The new add-on isn’t trying to be something it isn’t and the old building doesn’t seem burdened by the new kid on the block. It’s like he’s saying, “stick with me kid, I’ll give you a good name in this neighborhood.”
