Fold: Out of the Woodwork

Fold, a brand-new company, completed two sets of multipurpose stools and tables just in time for the fair. The bold ersatz “grain” is gorgeous. It comes from a composite called parallam, made by high-pressure laminating parallel strands of wood fiber. The fiber is a byproduct of lumber production.

Parallam is typically used for framing members within the structure of a building. But it’s environmentally efficient, and it looks great here. Fold made a smart choice in showing it off.
