Next Generation 2005 runner-up XS Space, with Balmori Associates, has created a landscape of gently rolling hills and flowering trees in one of the borough’s empty lots. Called Urban Meadow, the park was meant to be temporary, but the community fell in love and the NYC Parks Department let it put down roots.
