You’ve resolved to be more charitable this year? Here’s some motivation for you–America’s Giving Challenge. GlobalGiving Foundation has partnered with the Case Foundation and Parade magazine (a.k.a home to Marilyn Vos Savant, the columnist with the world’s highest IQ. Sorry, Philip Nobel!) to entice online charity donations. When you donate to your cause-of-choice between now and January 31, $500,000 will be awarded to the eight charities that attract the most unique donors while the 100 nonprofits with the greatest number of donations will each receive $1,000.
The GlobalGiving web site has made finding a cause to give to simple. The 400+ charities involved in the challenge are listed by location and by cause and your tax-deductible donations can go to groups that champion everything from clean water projects to education, technology, health, or environmental issues. It’s an extremely impressive list of grassroot charities that deserve all the recognition (and charitable gifts) possible.
