Metropolis’s booth at ICFF 2003 is a functional environment reflecting the magazine’s interest in the full design process. The prototype shelving system, designed by Douglas Fanning of DYAD Studio shows the many steps associated with product development.

The entire process is documented (see photos) so visitors can experience one designer’s journey from idea to sketch to prototype to product.

Currently in its prototype stage, this self-supporting system for shelving and display will evolve toward a product at its introduction at ICFF. This super efficient system may give many configurations without the need for supporting walls or mounting hardware.

The collaborative spirit, unique skills, and willingness of all the parties involved will be sure to make the Metropolis booth a success. With a tight deadline of six weeks it’s come time to install. Check out our progress here.
