The 2007 Next Generation® Design Competition Kicks Off in Style

Design-minded revelers help launch this year’s competition.

Last night, Metropolis kicked off the 2007 Next Generation® Design Competition with a party at the New York City showroom of The Mohawk Group. This Next Generation® event brought together previous years’ runners-up, judges, and a very enthusiastic crowd from New York’s design community. Publisher Horace Havemeyer III and editor in chief Susan S. Szenasy both spoke briefly on the 4-year history of the competition and the addition of a theme to this year’s contest—energy.

Since the competition’s launch in September, over 600 readers have started the application process for the online entry at Next Generation® Web site. The 2007 Next Generation® Design Competition is sponsored by Herman Miller, Inc., Maharam, The Mohawk Group, and Sherwin-Williams.
